time to carve those pumpkins

Ah what a boring week behind me.. Friday totally saved it though. Pretty much all I did during the week was study and stress out about my math test. Also I was sick for more than a week, so I feel happy that my tummy can finally handle eating a meal. Last Friday was one of the worst nights of my life. I don't really want to go into a detailed explanation just to spare you, but lets just say that I spent most of the night with my head pretty much in the toilet.. All last week I had trouble just finishing my meal because I felt like my stomach could not handle it. Now I feel better though.

On Friday we went out to Terry's for dinner with the girls. I had a super yummy cheese cappelletti, which I couldn't finish so I just had the left overs a little while ago. After dinner we dropped by home to get our Halloween costumes and then went over to Jess's house to get ready with the girls. A couple hours passes by suprisingly quickly when eight girls are in the same house all getting ready for a Halloween party. I didn't have my camera with me so I am still waiting for some more picture material from people who had their camera's so be patient. I don't think I've ever worn as much make-up as on Friday in my life. I wore fake lashes too for the first time and they actually looked pretty cool, but I felt like I had something in my eyes the whole night. All in all my costume was a success! I felt very out of place in pink open-toe heels, a bright pink dress, big back combed hair and all that make-up, but hey during Halloween you are allowed to look a little sketchy.

At nine thirty we started heading to the dance, which was held at the English high school, and made it just in time before the doors closed. There was a little less people then at our own tight and bright dance, but everyone who I wanted to see at the dance was there, so I was happy :) I also got to experience a Cinderella moment (twice) because one of my shoes went missing and the guy who found it kneeled in front of me and slipped my stiletto back onto my foot. My other shoe was with the guy who helped me looked for my other shoe and he did the whole Cinderella thing as well.

Yesterday I carved my first pumpkin ever. I wanted my first pumpkin to be something simple to carve, but I really did not pick the easiest stencil. I wanted to carve a spider on mine and it took me probably more than an hour and a half in total to carve it. Oh well, it just took some determination and patience. It looks pretty cool for my first pumpkin I must say.

Tomorrow is Halloween officially and that means that we have to dress up for school, but I found it too boring  to go as the same thing as I did to the dance so this morning I woke up with the idea that Emma and I could switch costumes. She agreed. So tomorrow I will be going to school as an angel!

I have to go study for my french re-exam and biology test now.. sounds like fun right?

Happy Halloween.

lack of inspiration

Two weeks since my last post and still I have no inspiration to write. A lot has happened and yet I can't figure out what to write. Two weeks ago I went to Ottawa and did some serious money spending. Money was spent on food and clothes mostly. It was kind of fun being in a city again, but it was strange to notice how traffic annoyed me more than usual. I've never really been annoyed by traffic that much before, but when we were getting closer to the city I payed more attention to traffic then ever before. I suppose it was because I've honestly gotten quite used to not having to wait in traffic at all. Even though Ottawa is Canada's capital it is smaller and more quiet than I though it would be.

The Thursday we got back we only spent about a half an hour at home, when my host mother told Emma and I that she was leaving to go to Timmins and that we could join her if we wanted to. I saw no point in staying home so I grabbed my wallet and got in the car. I found myself a snowboarding coat and I figured out my Halloween costume that day too. A couple of days ago I found out that the person who I had my whole costume planned with bailed on me so I guess I'll just be doing it myself. Oh well I can pull it off by myself too.

This weekend has been a pretty relaxed one. Friday I was hanging out with a friend and yesterday I didn't even leave the house. It's been pretty rainy so yesterday was the perfect day to make crepes or well lettus to be correct and watch a couple of movies. I watched finding Nemo for the first time and the happy ending made me cry like a baby. I am such an emotional movie watcher sometimes it can be a little embarrassing. It was pretty dark though, so I don't think anyone noticed the streams of tears running down my cheeks.

Last weekend was Thanksgiving. I actually had no idea that it was earlier in Canada than in the US. We celebrated it on the Saturday with the family. We had the turkey, the stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes, the gravy you name it. And for dessert we had the traditional pumpkin pie. I used to not like pumpkin pie, but nowadays I adore it.

Yes it is a seal robot Emma is holding, in the museum of civilization.

Chilling in front of a two million dollar spider.

Best dessert ever!!! and my hand?

At the Chinese grocery store in Ottawa. Probably one of the coolest stores I have ever been to.

Darling little sister :)

Hopefully my inspiration won't ditch me for two weeks yet again so I can write for you soon again.

falling for fall

I usually appreciate summer out of all the seasons the most. Then next for me is winter, because I adore snowboarding. I also really like spring too. It's the time of the year when nature is waking up from a deep sleep, as well as people too I find. Autumn is always the last in line, but this might be the year that autumn steps up it's game and ranks higher. There has been a few rainy days, but besides that it has been beautiful. I even hope that this autumn stretches out to last quite a long time, so delay those -30 to -40 degrees Celsius winter days.

Yesterday I woke up early to bake a cake and then I dragged myself to the gym for a work-out. I was all psyched up, cause I was looking forward to the party we were supposed to be going to with Emma, but unfortunately it was cancelled. So Emma and I ended up going to a friend's house to watch Friends, eat nachos and drink hot chocolates. Today I spent the day with a couple of guys as they went hunting. I just enjoyed walking around in the woods haha. Emma was supposed to come too, but she had to stay in bed to sleep off her cold.

Dear readers, I will be gone for a few days! Remember to enjoy autumn while I'm gone. It's better that you give it credit for. At least I think so.
